We will never see a leader teach that we must disobey God’s Law to be saved. The devil is evil, but he is not stupid. The serpent’s cunning consists in speaking with contradictory subtlety. On one hand, leaders say that God’s Law is holy, just, and good, even quoting the Psalms. On the other, they defend the doctrine of “unmerited favor” and say that obeying God’s laws will not help in salvation. Worse still, they teach that insisting on this means ”denying Christ” and that such a person will be condemned. Jesus never taught this and never authorized any man after Him to preach such absurdity. What Jesus taught is that no one comes to Him unless the Father sends him, and the Father will never send declared disobedient people to the Son. | “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them; and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:44)
None of the prophets of the Old Testament, nor Jesus in the Gospels, taught that Gentiles have their own path to salvation. The idea accepted in many churches, that Gentiles are exempt from following the laws of Israel, besides being incorrect, is illogical. Why would God treat Gentiles differently from Israel? Do we Gentiles have some incapacity that prevents us from being faithful to God, as so many servants were before and during the coming of Christ? Are we inferior to Jesus’ family, friends, and apostles? Our salvation comes by following the same laws that the Father gave to the chosen nation for His honor and glory. The Father sees our dedication, unites us to Israel, and sends us to Jesus. This is the plan of salvation that makes sense, because it is true. | “The assembly is to have the same laws for you and for the foreigner residing among you; this is a lasting ordinance.” (Numbers 15:15)
When Joshua replaced Moses, God did not give him a new doctrine or a different plan of salvation. He simply said: “Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may be successful wherever you go.” Success before God has always depended on one thing: obedience to His Law. Today, the Gentile who wishes to be saved needs to follow the same advice. The Father has not changed, His laws have not changed, and the way remains narrow. Jesus and His apostles lived obeying the Father’s commandments, and so must we. The Father observes our faithfulness, unites us to Israel, and sends us to the Son. This is the plan of salvation that makes sense, because it is the true one. | “You have laid down your precepts, that we should fully obey them.” (Psalm 119:4)
Why risk our eternal destiny by trusting in a plan of salvation with no basis in the words of Jesus? In none of the four gospels did our Savior say that those who obey His Father’s Law will lose salvation, as so many churches claim today. This lie is part of the devil’s campaign against the Gentiles, begun after Christ’s ascension. The Father only sends to the Son those who obey the commandments He gave us through the prophets of the Old Testament and through Jesus Himself in the gospels. Salvation is individual. Do not follow the majority, obey while you are alive. | Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord! will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:21)
Everything God promises that is good in the Scriptures is only for His obedient children: His material and spiritual blessings, healings, deliverances, daily protection, sure guidance, true peace, and above all, the eternal blessings in the world to come. The Lord was clear: all these belong only to those who seek to obey all the commandments revealed by the prophets who came before the Messiah and by the Messiah Himself. None of this is automatic, and none of this is given to the rebellious. The Father has always honored and will continue to honor only those who honor Him through obedience. Salvation is individual. Obey while you are still alive. | “If only they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, so that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!” (Deuteronomy 5:29)
The serpent showed how cunning it was in the Garden of Eden by managing to convince Eve to disobey a single commandment of God. But the devil’s true masterpiece was not in Eden. It happened right after Jesus returned to heaven, when the enemy inspired talented men to create the false doctrine that the Messiah came to save the gentiles without the need to obey the commandments that God gave us through the prophets of the Old Testament. Whether in Eden, in Israel, or anywhere in the world, the objective is always the same: to disobey God. This lie has led millions of gentiles away from the true path of salvation that Jesus and His disciples taught and lived. Many Christians read the Old Testament, are enchanted by the promises of protection and blessings, but ignore the condition that God has always placed before them: obedience to His powerful and eternal Law. They want to reap without sowing, want inheritance without faithfulness, want the Lamb without surrendering to the Father. This will not happen. It is obedience that leads to blessings and forgiveness. Jesus taught obedience to the commandments of the Father to the apostles and disciples and, like them, whether Jews or gentiles, we must keep the Sabbath, circumcision, the forbidden meats, the tzitzits, the beard, and all the other statutes of the Lord to inherit eternal life. The title of “worshiper” did not come from God. This idea that there is a special group in churches whose mission is to ”worship” serves only to hide the disregard for the orders of the Most High. Many sing and raise their hands, but do not follow the commandments that the Lord revealed to the prophets in the Old Testament and to Jesus in the four Gospels. The true worshiper demonstrates this through obedience. He keeps the Law that God gave to His chosen people and, through this faithfulness, the Father includes him in the eternal covenant and sends him to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. If an individual were to say in church: “I do not deserve to be saved!”, but sought to faithfully obey the laws that God gave to His prophets and to Jesus, he would be an excellent example of humility, worthy of being imitated. But in practice, the majority in the church repeat this phrase often, while obeying God’s Law is the last thing on their minds. In their understanding, distorted by the serpent, they believe that precisely because they do not deserve it, they can ignore God’s laws and still reach heaven. Do not follow the majority just because they are many. The end has already come! Obey while you are alive. | “You have commanded your precepts, that we should keep them diligently.” (Psalm 119:4)
The lake of fire will be the bitter confirmation that God is not to be trifled with. On that Day, millions of Christians will try to blame their leaders for having been taught to ignore the powerful and eternal Law of God, but no excuse will stand before the Most High. Jesus never said, in the four gospels, that He was creating a religion for gentiles in which obedience would be unnecessary. There is only one plan of salvation, and Christ demonstrated it by forming apostles and disciples in total obedience. Jews or gentiles, we must live as they did, keeping the Sabbath, circumcision, the forbidden meats, the tzitzits, the beard, and all the other statutes of the Lord. Salvation is individual: obey while you are alive. | “The assembly must have the same laws, which will apply both to you and to the gentile living among you; this is a perpetual decree.” (Numbers 15:15)
