Saying that obeying the Law of the Father of Jesus is the same as rejecting Jesus is one of the most offensive statements possible, and yet it is one of the favorite slogans of those who defend the false doctrine of “unmerited favor.” The phrase is absurd and deceptive, but many embrace it because it encourages disobedience to God’s laws while creating the false impression that they are pleasing Him. Do not fall for this lie of the serpent, whose purpose since Eden has always been the same: to lead humanity into disobedience to God. What Jesus taught is that it is the Father who sends us to the Son, and the Father only sends those who follow the same laws given to the nation He set apart for Himself with an everlasting covenant. God does not send the disobedient to His Son. | “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” Deut 4:3
