“The God who made the world and everything in it… is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:24-25).
God, in His perfection and completeness, needed nothing beyond Himself, yet He chose to create a world for His glory. In His sovereignty, He could have accomplished all His purposes alone, but He decided to work through His creatures, including us, human beings. Each of us was created with a unique purpose, with a special role in the divine plan, designed by the Creator Himself. Whether rich or poor, known or anonymous, God knows us intimately and calls us by name. This truth is extraordinary and fills us with meaning, but it also challenges us to live in submission to what He expects from us.
Understanding and fulfilling God’s plans for our lives begins with obedience to what He has already revealed to us. His Scriptures are clear: obeying His commandments is the first step to discovering our purpose. Many times, people seek great revelations or specific directions from God, but neglect what He has already recorded. Those who are not faithful in obeying what they already know will not be prepared to receive and live out the unique plan that God has designed especially for them.
Obedience is the key that opens the door to divine revelation. When we choose to follow God’s commandments, we demonstrate faithfulness, trust, and submission to His will. It is on this journey of obedience that God reveals His intentions, guides our steps, and enables us to fully live out the purpose for which we were created. In faithfulness to what He has already taught us, we find the path to a life aligned with God’s eternal counsel and to the fulfillment of the unique role He has entrusted to us. -Adapted from J. H. Pray with me: Dear God, I thank You for Your loving choice to create this world and for including us in Your divine plans. It is extraordinary to know that, in Your perfection, You decided to work through us, giving each of us a unique purpose. Help me to understand the depth of Your calling and to live in submission to what You expect of me, recognizing that I was created for Your glory.
My Father, I know that understanding Your plan for my life begins with obedience to what You have already revealed in Your Word. Help me to be faithful in following Your commandments, even when I seek specific answers or future directions. May my faithfulness in what I already know open the way for Your will to be more clearly revealed and fulfilled in my life.
Oh, Most Holy God, I praise You because obedience is the key that draws us closer to You and aligns us with Your eternal counsel. Thank You for Your patience in guiding my steps and for enabling me to live the purpose for which I was created. May my life be an expression of trust, faithfulness, and submission to Your will, so that I may joyfully fulfill the role You have entrusted to me. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law never leaves my mind. I am truly passionate about Your commandments. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
