Daily Devotional: Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given…

“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, as I promised to Moses” (Joshua 1:3).

There is a vast territory of divine promises that remains unexplored and unclaimed, waiting for those who are willing to move forward in obedience and faith. When God said to Joshua, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I will give you,” He established a powerful principle: the territory of the promise was available, but it would need to be conquered with determination and action. God set the boundaries of the land, but the Israelites only possessed what they measured with their own feet. Unfortunately, they explored only a third of the promised land and, because of this, were limited to what they were willing to reach.

The same happens with us. Our experience with God and the reach of His promises are directly linked to how much we are willing to align ourselves with His will. Many desire great achievements and spiritual leadership, but do not want to submit to obedience to divine commandments. They want the blessings, but reject the commitment that accompanies them. This imbalance limits what we can experience of the fullness of God, for He does not share His glory with those who live in disobedience.

If we truly wish to grow in intimacy with God and conquer the spiritual and physical territory He has promised us, we need to set aside our own desires and focus on what He wants from us. Everything God requires has already been revealed in His Scriptures, and it is by obeying His commandments that we see doors open before us. When we turn to Him with a faithful and obedient heart, the path widens, and great material and spiritual achievements become a reality in our lives. -Adapted from A. T. Pierson. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.

Pray with me: Dear God, I recognize that many of Your promises remain unexplored in my life because I often hesitate to move forward in faith and obedience. Just as the Israelites only possessed the land they measured with their feet, I know that the reach of Your blessings depends on my willingness to follow Your will with determination and commitment. Help me to abandon passivity and to walk courageously toward what You have prepared for me.

My Father, today I ask that You give me a heart willing to align completely with Your will. I do not want to desire the blessings without accepting the commitment that comes with them. Teach me to submit to Your commandments, knowing that it is in obedience that I find the fullness of Your presence. I want to let go of my own desires and embrace Your plans, trusting that they are always better and higher.

Oh, Most Holy God, I praise You because You have revealed everything I need to achieve great things. Thank You because Your Word is clear and sufficient to guide me. May my faithfulness and obedience open the way for great achievements, allowing Your glory to shine in my life. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is my constant friend. I love Your commandments, for they are like beautiful instruments that play melodies of peace and joy in my heart. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
