“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me” (John 15:4).
We need to understand that, before we can be channels of blessing to others, we must allow God’s blessings to transform our own lives. There is no way to give what we have not yet received. Just as a tree needs to be strong and healthy to produce fruit, our soul needs to be filled with God’s love and mercy before it can nourish the souls around us. The love of God the Father and of Jesus is the fire that lights the wick of our love, and only when we are touched by this divine love can we transmit it in a genuine way.
True love, the kind that transforms lives, can only arise from an authentic relationship with God. And this relationship is not based only on words or intentions, but on faith that is expressed in obedience. Believing in God and in Jesus means trusting in them and showing that trust through submission to His perfect Law. It is in believing and obeying that we find the solid foundation to receive heavenly blessings, which enable us to meet the spiritual and material needs of those around us.
When we experience the blessings of faith and obedience, we are called to share what we have received. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and quenching the thirsty is more than an act of material kindness; it is a spiritual mission. The world is lacking much more than bread and water; it is thirsty for love, truth, and salvation. To us, who believe and obey, has been entrusted the task of bringing these blessings to the world, demonstrating through our actions the transforming power of God. -Adapted from Henry Müller. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
Pray with me: Dear God, it is true that before helping others, I need to allow Your blessings to transform my own life. I cannot offer what I have not yet received from You. Just as a tree needs to be healthy to bear fruit, I ask that my soul be filled with Your love and Your goodness, so that I may truly and genuinely share Your care and Your light with others.
My Father, today I ask You to help me cultivate a deep and authentic relationship with You. Teach me to trust in You and to demonstrate that trust through obedience to Your perfect Law. May my faith not be only words or intentions, but a reflection of Your will in my life. Enable me to receive and to share the heavenly blessings that strengthen both myself and those around me.
Oh, Most Holy God, I praise You for granting me the privilege of being an instrument of Your love and Your truth in this world. Thank You for calling me to meet not only the material but also the spiritual needs of those who are thirsty for Your presence. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law never leaves me insecure in life. Your commandments are like pillars that uphold the temple of my faith. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
