“Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19).
Memory is a gift from God—but it will also be a witness on the great day. Many try to forget the mistakes of the past, burying the wrongs they have done as if time had the power to erase them. But if the blood of the Son of God has not erased those marks, the moment will come when God Himself says, “Remember,” and everything will return in an instant, with the weight and pain we once tried to ignore.
There will be no need for anyone to accuse us—our own conscience will speak loudly. And the only way to find true rest is to obey God’s wonderful Law and allow Him to lead us to the Savior. This is not superficial obedience, but a genuine surrender that recognizes the danger of guilt and the immeasurable value of the forgiveness only the Son can grant. The Father does not send rebels to the Son—He sends those who, touched by the truth, choose to walk in His sublime ways.
Today is the day to align ourselves with the Lord’s commandments and prepare our hearts to stand before Him without fear, with our souls washed clean and at peace. May our memory, on that appointed day, be not an accusation but a testimony to a life of obedience and transformation. —Adapted from D. L. Moody. Until tomorrow, if the Lord permits.
Pray with me: My God, You know all my ways. Nothing is hidden from Your eyes, and I know that one day everything will come to light. Teach me to live with a clean heart before You, without deceiving myself with excuses or forgetfulness.
Help me value every opportunity I have to obey and walk in Your way. May Your Spirit show me what needs to be corrected and give me strength to stand firm, with sincerity and reverence.
Oh, faithful Father, I thank You for warning me about the weight of memory and the value of forgiveness. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the mirror that reveals the truth about who I am. Your commandments are the sure path to a peaceful conscience. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
