“He went out, not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8).
Have you ever felt like Abraham? Setting out, leaving behind what was familiar, without being sure of what would come next? Moments like these are challenging, for there is no logical explanation to give when someone asks, “What do you intend to do?” The truth is that many times we do not know, but we trust that God knows. And that is enough. The walk of faith is not about having a detailed plan, but about being certain that God has a perfect purpose and that He leads us safely.
That is why we must always review our posture toward God. Are we truly abandoning everything and fully trusting in Him? Our trust cannot be in our own understanding or plans, but in the guidance He has already given us in His commandments. God has given us perfect laws, and because they are perfect, they will never lead us astray. To obey His will means to walk securely, even when the details of the future are unknown. True faith does not require us to know what is to come; it only requires that we trust the God who is guiding us.
This trust keeps us continually amazed, for each new day is a new journey of faith. When we stop worrying about the things we used to value before we “set out,” we learn to depend on God in a genuine way. Our only responsibility is to obediently follow His path, knowing that He is ahead of us, leading us to the life that has been prepared for those who love Him and follow His will. -Adapted from O. Chambers. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
Pray with me: Dear God, it is true that following You often means setting out without knowing where I am going, trusting only that You know the way. I know that faith is not based on detailed human plans, but on the certainty that You have a perfect purpose and lead those who obey You. I want to learn to rest in this truth, without demanding explanations or visible guarantees, but trusting that everything is safe in Your hands.
My Father, today I ask You to strengthen my heart so that I may truly let go of everything that holds me back and trust entirely in You. I know that Your Word has already revealed to me the right path and that, by obeying Your commandments, I will never be lost. May my faith not depend on human logic or the approval of others, but be firmly anchored in Your will. Teach me to walk securely, even when the details of the future are unknown to me.
Oh, Most Holy God, I worship and praise You because You are faithful in leading those who choose to follow You. Thank You because the walk of faith does not depend on my certainties, but on Your unchanging faithfulness. May my life be a testimony of total dependence on You, so that, each day, I may trust more, obey more, and rest in the assurance that You guide me to the destiny You have prepared for those who love You. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law makes me see the straight and pure path. Your commandments fill my soul with peace. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
