“Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors” (Proverbs 8:34).
Unfortunately, many of us waste our spiritual strength on tasks that are not in harmony with God’s purposes. We invest time, energy, and even resources with good intentions, but without clear divine direction. This weakens us, frustrates us, and distances us from the true impact we could have on the world. However, if today’s consecrated servants used their strength and possessions wisely according to God’s plans, they could completely transform this generation.
The key to this transformation lies in obedience to the majestic Law of God. It shows us the right path to follow, prevents us from straying, and connects us to the heavenly purpose with precision. The splendid commandments that the Father gave to the prophets of the Old Testament and to Jesus reveal to us how to use what we have with wisdom and reverence. When we obey, we stop acting on impulse and begin to walk with focus, courage, and eternal results.
Be someone in whom God can fully trust. He desires to bless and send to the Son those who live according to His will. The Father does not send rebels to the Savior, but the obedient, the disciplined, the faithful to His incomparable Law. Obedience brings us blessings, deliverance, and salvation—and makes us active instruments in the fulfillment of the divine plan. -Adapted from John Jowett. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
Pray with me: Lord my God, help me to recognize when I am spending strength on things that do not come from You. Give me wisdom to seek only the paths that are in full harmony with Your purpose.
Teach me to use my gifts, time, and resources according to Your magnificent commandments. May I stop acting on impulse and begin to walk with focus and reverence for Your will.
Oh, beloved Father, I thank You because You do not leave without direction those who obey You from the heart. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is like a precise map drawn by Your hands. Your commandments are like sure compasses that keep me from getting lost. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
