“And the evil spirit, after screaming and throwing him into convulsions, came out; and the boy became like a corpse” (Mark 9:26).
Evil never yields ground without resistance, and every spiritual conquest demands an intense and determined struggle. There is no spiritual inheritance without confrontations, for the path to the soul’s freedom passes through battlefields, not tranquil gardens. Every mind that attains true spiritual freedom does so at the cost of sacrifice, effort, and often tears. The powers of darkness do not retreat before mere words or superficial intentions; they raise barriers, block the way, and try to hinder every step toward obedience and victory. Our spiritual progress is marked by real and deep struggles, which require courage and perseverance.
Living in obedience to God’s commandments is not for the weak. It requires total surrender, an unwavering determination to follow the ways of the Father and the Son, even in the face of challenges and opposition. Obedience is the mark that distinguishes those who are willing to fight for the truth from those who surrender to the comfort of the world. However, when we choose to obey firmly and resolutely, we are declaring victory over the forces of evil. The battle may continue, but the war is already won, for we are on the side of Almighty God.
The final victory is not in our own strength, but in our submission to the Father and our faithfulness to Jesus. It is in obedience that we find the strength to overcome every obstacle and resist every attack. And even if the path is marked by sacrifice, tears, and blood, the reward is eternal. Whoever lives in obedience to the Lord walks in the certainty that they are on the right path, heading toward the inheritance He promised to those who love Him and follow Him faithfully. –Adapted from John Jowett. Pray with me: Dear God, I recognize that every spiritual conquest comes with intense struggles and deep challenges. The path to freedom and to spiritual inheritance is not easy, but requires sacrifice, effort, and complete surrender to You. I ask You for strength and courage to face the battles of life with determination, knowing that with every step of obedience, I am advancing toward the victory You have prepared for Your children.
My Father, help me to live in firm and resolute obedience to Your commandments, even when the forces of evil rise up against me. May I never give in to comfort or discouragement, but, trusting in Your Word, may I remain faithful and committed to Your ways. I know that by obeying, I declare victory over darkness, for I am aligned with Your power and Your truth.
Oh, Most Holy God, I praise You because the final victory does not depend on my strength, but on my submission and faithfulness to You and to Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for strengthening me in the midst of battles and for guaranteeing that the reward will be eternal. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law never abandons me; it is my companion on the journey. Your commandments are the compass that guides my life, always leading me on the path of righteousness.
