Those obsessed with the doctrine of “unmerited favor” never mention the words of Jesus in the Gospels, and this is not by chance: this teaching does not come from Christ. The serpent fabricated this belief right after Jesus’ ascension, with the same purpose as always: to convince us to disobey God. The idea that God saves those who do not deserve it, but rejects those who seek to obey to please Him, is clearly demonic, as if God’s commandments were given to be ignored. Yet, millions accept this doctrine. Jesus taught us that the Father sends us to the Son, and the Father only sends those who follow the laws given to the nation He set apart with an eternal covenant, the same laws that Jesus and His apostles followed. | “I have revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word [the Old Testament].” John 17:6.
