The prophecies of the Old Testament confirm that Jesus is the Messiah, and it was through them, along with signs and miracles, that many chose to follow Christ. However, there are no prophecies about someone coming after Christ with new teachings on salvation for the Gentiles, whether that person is within or outside the Bible. Only Jesus’ teachings on salvation are sufficient, and He made it clear that it is the Father who sends souls to the Son. There is no basis in the writings of the prophets or in the four Gospels to believe that the Father sends those who live in open disobedience to the commandments given in the Old Testament—the very same commandments that Jesus and His apostles followed. | “I will also bless the foreigners who commit themselves to the Lord… and who hold fast to my covenant. I will bring them to my holy mountain.” (Isaiah 56:6-7)
