“I will cry out to the Most High God, to the God who accomplishes everything for me. He sends forth His help from heaven and saves me” (Psalm 57:2-3).
Consider this truth: it was God who brought you to this very moment. It was not you, not chance, and certainly not the enemy. It was He, the Lord, who placed you here, at this time, in this era. And if you are not ready to face what God has prepared for you now, know that you will also not be ready for anything else you might think would be better. It is futile to want to go back, to wish time could reverse, or to dream of easier days. God brought you to this moment to shape you, to teach you to depend on Him, and not on yourself.
Let us discuss what this means in practice. If the easy times are gone, it is because God wants to use the difficult times to make you more serious, more focused, more dependent on Him. But here is the truth that many try to ignore: you cannot live within God’s perfect plan if you are not willing to obey His Word. It is not about what you think is right or convenient; it is about what God has already revealed in the Scriptures. He has made the commandments very clear, but most of us simply ignore them, thinking we can create our own path. Do not be deceived: the difficult times are an opportunity for you to learn to trust in God, but that trust only comes when you decide to live as He commands.
And here is the most important point: there is no communion with God without obedience. It is futile to want God’s blessings, protection, or guidance if you are not willing to follow His Law exactly as it was given. God does not negotiate, He does not compromise, He does not accept half-measures. If you want to live within the perfect plan He has for you, you need to stop ignoring the commandments and start obeying them, no matter the cost. When you do this, you not only face the challenges of this time with courage, but you also experience an intimacy with God that the disobedient will never know. So, decide today: stop running from what God has called you to live and start obeying His Word. This is how you will find strength, purpose, and true communion with the Lord. -Adapted from J. D. Maurice. Until tomorrow, if the Lord permits.
Pray with me: Dear God, it is true that I often find myself questioning how I arrived at this very moment, often thinking it was by my own strength, by luck, or even by mistake. But today I acknowledge that it was You, and You alone, who brought me here, at this time, in this era, to fulfill Your purpose in my life. I confess that at times I wish to go back, to dream of easier days, or to imagine I would be better prepared for something different, but now I understand that this moment is Your gift to shape me, to teach me to depend on You and not on myself.
My Father, today I ask You to give me wisdom and strength to embrace the challenges of this time, understanding that the difficult days are Your instrument to make me more serious, more focused, and more dependent on You. Teach me to live within Your perfect plan, recognizing that this requires faithful obedience to Your Word, and not to my own ideas or conveniences. I ask that You show me the value of following Your commandments as they are, without ignoring them or trying to create my own path, so that I may learn to trust in You with all my heart.
Oh, Most Holy God, I worship and praise You for calling me to a deep intimacy with You, reserved for those who choose to obey Your will, facing challenges with strength, purpose, and true communion. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is the foundation that keeps me standing, an eternal light that guides my steps. Your commandments are chains of love that bind me to You, a melody of justice that sings in my soul. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
