“And the people said to Joshua: We will serve the Lord, our God, and obey Him” (Joshua 24:24).
This phrase that the people spoke to Joshua is beautiful, but the truth is that many of us spend our entire lives saying beautiful things without ever making a true decision. We are like a jury that hears the evidence, analyzes, thinks, but never gives a verdict. We look in all directions, consider a thousand options, dream of possibilities, but never take a stand. And do you know what happens? We live adrift, without direction, without a turning point, without a climax. My friend, life was not meant to be an eternal wait for “something” that never comes. God is calling you to decide, to stop wavering and choose once and for all to live for Him.
Now, let’s talk about what happens when you do not decide. It is as if your life becomes a flight, a senseless race, instead of a powerful and purposeful mission. Have you ever seen a boat without a rudder? It goes wherever the waves take it, never reaching a safe harbor. This is exactly how we live when we do not make a firm decision to follow God. We spend our days hoping that something magical will happen, but the truth is that nothing changes until you change. And here is the secret that can transform everything: the decision to obey God, no matter the cost, is what puts you on solid ground. When you say “yes” to God, with all your heart, you are not just making a choice — you are opening the door for the power of heaven to enter your life.
And do you know what happens when you make this decision? You become unshakable. I am not talking about human strength, but about a supernatural power that comes directly from God. When you decide to obey the will of the Lord, without compromise, without bargaining, you become a person truly blessed and protected by the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ. Pray with me: Dear God, it is true that I often find myself declaring beautiful intentions about serving You, stating that I will follow Your path, but without ever taking a firm step of commitment. I confess that, many times, I behave like someone who evaluates all options, ponders infinite possibilities, and dreams of changes, but never reaches a conclusion. Because of this, my life ends up wandering aimlessly, like a lost ship, without a decisive moment that marks a turning point. Today, I recognize that You call me to set aside this hesitation and choose, once and for all, to live fully for You, without further delay.
My Father, today I ask You to give me boldness and determination to make a clear decision to obey You, regardless of the cost. I no longer want my existence to be a directionless search, at the mercy of circumstances, like a boat adrift on the waves. Teach me to surrender my heart completely to You, so that my life may transform into a journey with purpose, guided by Your power. I ask that Your Spirit strengthen me, place me on solid ground, and make me an instrument of Your plan, bringing the strength of heaven into my reality.
Oh, Most Holy God, I worship and praise You for calling me to a firm and unshakable life, full of meaning and guidance, where I can confidently advance towards the glorious future You have prepared for me. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is the rock that sustains my steps, a radiant light that guides my soul.
