“And the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might” (Ephesians 1:19).

A root planted in the best soil, with the ideal climate and receiving all that the sun, air, and rain can offer, still has no guarantee of reaching perfection. Yet the soul that sincerely seeks all that God desires to give is on a much surer path to growth and fulfillment. The Father is always willing to pour out life and peace on those who sincerely seek Him.

No shoot stretching toward the sun is as certain of a response as the soul that turns to its Creator. God, being the source of all good, communicates with power and love to those who truly desire to share in His presence. Where there is sincere aspiration and living obedience, there God makes Himself known. He does not ignore those who seek Him with faith and humility.

Therefore, the direction of the heart matters more than the surrounding environment. When a soul bows before God’s will and decides to follow His powerful Law, it receives life from Above. The Lord’s commandments are paths of light for all who trust in Him. Sincere obedience opens one’s very being to all that the Creator desires to pour out. -Adapted from William Law. Pray with me: My Lord and God, I thank You for being so accessible and so ready to receive me. While many things in life are uncertain, Your faithfulness never fails. If I seek You sincerely, I know You will come to meet me with love and power.

I want my heart to desire Your presence more than anything in this world. Teach me to stretch my soul toward You, just as a plant stretches toward the sun. Give me an obedient spirit that loves Your ways and trusts in Your commandments. I do not want to live apart from Your will.

O Most Holy God, I adore and praise You for never rejecting a sincere soul. You communicate with those who love and obey You, and I desire to live that way. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is like rain that penetrates the soil and gives abundant life. Your commandments are like rays of sunshine that warm, guide, and strengthen the path of the righteous. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
