“The Lord protects the simple; when I was without strength, he saved me” (Psalm 116:6).
The liberation of the soul from all selfish, anxious, and unnecessary concerns brings such deep peace and such light freedom that they become difficult to describe. This is true spiritual simplicity: living with a clean heart, free from complications created by the “self.” When we surrender completely to God’s will and begin to accept it in every detail of life, we enter a state of freedom that only He can grant. And from this freedom springs a pure simplicity, which allows us to live with lightness and clarity.
A soul that no longer seeks its own interests, but only seeks to please God, becomes transparent—it lives without masks, without inner conflicts. It walks unbound, and with every step it takes in obedience, the path before it becomes clearer, more illuminated. This is the daily path of souls that have decided to obey God’s powerful Law, even when it requires sacrifices. It may be that, at first, a person feels weak, but as soon as they begin to obey, a supernatural strength surrounds them—and they understand that this strength comes from God Himself.
Nothing compares to the peace and joy that arise when we live in harmony with the Creator’s commandments. The soul begins to experience heaven even here on earth, and this communion deepens each day. And the final destination of this path of simplicity, freedom, and obedience is glorious: eternal life in Christ Jesus, where there will be no more tears or struggles, only the eternal presence of the Father with those who loved Him and kept His Law. —Adapted from F. Pray with me: Dear God, I thank You because You offer my soul a freedom that the world cannot give. When I set aside selfish and anxious concerns and surrender completely to Your will, I discover a peace so deep that words cannot describe it. This spiritual simplicity—living with a clean heart, free from the burden of the “self”—is Your gift, and I recognize the immense value of this light and pure freedom that comes only from You.
My Father, today I ask You to give me an obedient and selfless spirit, one that does not seek its own interests but has as its sole desire to please You. May I walk without masks or inner conflicts, with a sincere heart and my eyes turned toward Your light. Even if the beginning of obedience seems difficult to me, sustain me with Your supernatural strength. May each step toward You make the path even clearer and draw me closer to perfect communion with You.
Oh, Most Holy God, I adore and praise You because nothing compares to the peace and joy that spring from obedience to Your holy will. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is like a serene river flowing within me, bringing life and rest to my weary soul. Your commandments are like rays of sunlight that warm and illuminate my journey, guiding me safely toward the glorious destination of eternal life with You.
