“The Lord makes firm the steps of the good man, and delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23).
You are surprised by your imperfections, but why? This only shows that your self-knowledge is limited. Instead of being astonished by your failures, thank God for His mercy that keeps you from falling into more serious and frequent errors. His protection is what sustains you each day.
This truth calls us to obey the radiant Law of God. His dazzling commandments are the light that guides us, correcting our path and keeping us steadfast. To obey is to trust in the Creator’s guidance, allowing Him to guard us from greater stumbles.
Beloved, live in obedience to receive God’s mercy. The Father guides the obedient to His Son, Jesus, for salvation. Give thanks for His sustaining power and follow His ways, as Jesus did, to find strength and peace. Adapted from Jean Nicolas Grou. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
