“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry” (Psalm 34:15).
God is searching for men and women who can steadfastly bear the weight of His love, His strength, and His faithful promises. When He finds a truly trustworthy heart, there are no limits to what He can accomplish through that life. The problem is that, many times, our faith is still fragile—like a thin rope trying to support an immense weight. That is why the Lord trains us, disciplines us, and strengthens us day after day, preparing us to live out everything He desires to give us.
This process of strengthening happens through obedience to the wondrous Law of God. When we choose to trust in the marvelous commandments of the Most High, He makes us stable, unshakable, prepared to receive great spiritual responsibilities. The Law given to the prophets of the Old Testament and to Jesus is the foundation upon which the Father shapes strong, faithful, and useful servants. Those who learn to obey in the details become ready for great tasks.
Let God train you through obedience. The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. May your faith become ever firmer, sustained by the splendid Law of the Lord. Obedience brings us blessings, deliverance, and salvation—and makes us vessels ready to contain all that God desires to pour out. -Adapted from A. B. Simpson. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
Pray with me: Dear Father, strengthen my faith so that I may bear everything You wish to entrust to me. May I not falter when You test me, but remain steadfast as an approved servant.
Teach me to trust in Your extraordinary commandments. With each step of obedience, may I be trained and shaped by You, becoming stable and faithful in all things.
Oh my God, I thank You because You are preparing me to receive what my eyes have not yet seen. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is like a pillar of strength that sustains me amid life’s pressures. Your commandments are like deep roots that keep me from falling. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
