“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts” (Psalm 139:23).
How different our lives would be if every day we sincerely prayed this prayer: “Search me, Lord.” It is easy to pray for others, but difficult to allow the divine light to reveal what is hidden within us. Many actively serve in God’s work, but forget to care for their own hearts. David learned that true transformation begins when we let the Lord examine the depths of our souls, where even we ourselves cannot see.
When we walk in the magnificent commandments of the Most High, God’s light penetrates even deeper within us. His Law reveals what is hidden, purifies intentions, and corrects our path. Obedience makes room for the Holy Spirit to act like refining fire, removing all that is impure and making the heart sensitive to the Creator’s voice.
So, ask God to search you with His light. Allow Him to show you the areas that need to be healed and transformed. The Father reveals what is wrong not to condemn, but to restore—and He leads those who allow themselves to be shaped to the Son, where there is forgiveness and true renewal. Adapted from D. L. Moody. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Beloved Father, I place myself before You asking that You search my heart. Show me what I need to change and purify me with Your light.
Lord, guide me so that I may live according to Your magnificent commandments, letting Your truth reveal every shadow and lead me to holiness.
Oh, dear God, I thank You because You search my heart with love and patience. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is the lamp that illuminates my intentions. Your commandments are the pure mirror that reflects my true self. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
