Daily Devotional: Pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which…

“Pursue peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

Heaven is a place prepared for a prepared people. There, everything is holy—the environment, the servants, and even the very joy of God’s presence. Therefore, whoever desires to dwell in eternity must be transformed now, still in this life. It is the Holy Spirit who teaches us, purifies us, and shapes us so that we may be worthy of the heavenly inheritance. If we do not experience this sanctification here, we will not be able to partake in the glory that awaits the saints.

But this preparation begins with obedience to the magnificent Law of God, the same splendid commandments that Jesus and His disciples faithfully followed. It is the Law of the Lord that separates the holy from the profane and trains us to live in communion with Him. God reveals His plans to the obedient and makes them fit for the Kingdom, purifying their hearts and granting them a new and heavenly nature.

The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Live today as a citizen of heaven—obey, purify yourself, and allow the Holy Spirit to prepare you for the eternal dwelling of the Most High. Adapted from J.C. Philpot. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.

Pray with me: Beloved Lord, prepare me for Your Kingdom. Purify me and make me a partaker of the holy and heavenly nature that comes from You.

Teach me to live in this world with my heart set on heaven, faithfully obeying Your will and learning from Your Holy Spirit.

Oh, dear Father, I thank You for preparing me for eternity. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the path that leads to the dwelling of the righteous. Your commandments are keys of light that open the doors of heaven. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
