“In everything, give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
God has a plan for your life—there is no doubt about that. But it is important to remember: the plan is His, not yours. And as long as you try to shape that plan according to your own desires, you will live in constant conflict with the Creator’s will. That is why so many Christians live frustrated: they pray, fast, make plans, but nothing flows. Because deep down, they still want God to bless the decisions they made without consulting Him. Peace only comes when we stop resisting and accept God’s plan exactly as He designed it.
Perhaps you say, “But I would accept God’s plan if only I knew what it was!” And here is the point many ignore: God has no interest in revealing the details of His plan to those who show no interest in obeying. God’s will is not an inaccessible mystery—the problem is that few are willing to fulfill what has already been revealed. Before seeking direction, mission, or purpose, we must obey what is already clear. And what is clear? The powerful, wise, and eternal Law of God, recorded in the Old Testament and reaffirmed by Jesus in the four Gospels.
Obedience always comes before revelation. Only when we surrender to the Father’s will and commit ourselves to His commandments does He begin to show us the next step. And with revelation come the mission, the blessings, and, finally, salvation in Christ. There are no shortcuts. The Father does not guide rebels. He guides the obedient. Do you want to know God’s plan for your life? Begin today to obey everything He has already commanded. Pray with me: Dear God, it is true that I often become frustrated when I do not understand what You are doing in my life. I try to seek You, but I still want things to happen in my time and in my way. When plans do not work out, I am tempted to think that You are distant, when in fact I am the one who insists on following paths that do not have Your approval. You have already made it clear, through Your commandments, how I should live, but I often ignore what has been revealed and wait for new answers, when what I need is to obey what I already know.
My Father, today I ask You to remove from me every desire to control the future and to plant within me an obedient heart. I no longer want to keep seeking revelations while setting aside the foundation of faith, which is obedience to what You have already commanded. Teach me to value what is written, to love Your ways, and to practice without delay the teachings I have already received. I know that You do not guide rebels, but those who honor You faithfully. Give me discernment, Lord, so that my life may be shaped by Your truth.
O Most Holy God, I adore and praise You because You never fail to show the right path to those who seek You sincerely. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is the firm road that leads to life, even when everything around me seems uncertain. Your commandments are like living torches shining amid the darkness, revealing Your character and giving direction to my soul. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
