Daily Devotional: “Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these things…”

“Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these things; He who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name; by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one is missing” (Isaiah 40:26).

It is impossible for a negligent, disorganized, and directionless soul to clearly behold God. The disordered mind, wandering without purpose, stands before the Creator as a painful contrast to the perfection and symmetry of all that God has made. The same voice that sustains the stars with precision is grieved to see hearts that draw near without reverence, without structure, without sincerity.

It is through obedience to the extraordinary Law of God that our inner being finds order and purpose. The sublime commandments given to the prophets of the Old Testament and to Jesus teach us to discipline the body, organize the mind, and cultivate an awakened soul. The glorious Law of the Lord gives us center and direction, shaping our lives with purpose, firmness, and reverence. Whoever obeys learns to live in harmony with the Creator—and their prayer ceases to be a contradiction and becomes a reflection of the beauty God expects to find in us.

Do not be content with a drifting life. The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. May the magnificent commandments of the Lord shape your soul with balance and zeal. Obedience brings us blessings, deliverance, and salvation—and transforms our prayer into a song aligned with the order of heaven. Adapted from James Martineau. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.

Pray with me: Holy and glorious Father, remove from me all spiritual laziness and all disorder that displeases You. Teach me to present myself before You with seriousness, humility, and truth.

Educate my heart with Your magnificent Law. May Your commandments shape me completely and make my life a reflection of Your perfect order.

Oh beloved Lord, I thank You because even though I am fragile and distracted, You invite me to live in communion with You. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is like a compass that organizes my days. Your commandments are like fixed stars that guide my prayers in the right direction. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
