“I waited patiently for the Lord, and He inclined to me and heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1).

Sometimes the Lord seems to hide His face, and we feel weak, confused, and distant from all that is heavenly. We feel like slow learners, bearing little fruit, walking far below what we desire on the path of righteousness. But even in those moments, there is something that remains firm: our gaze fixed on Him, the sincere desire to be with Him, and the persistent decision not to let Him go. This persistence is the mark of a true disciple.

And it is in this faithful clinging to the Lord that we begin to know the truth more deeply. As we remain steadfast, even on dark days, the wonderful Law of God is revealed to our hearts with power. His sublime commandments begin to speak directly to our pains, anxieties, and needs, shaping our walk with precision. The truth of God, expressed in the Law given to the prophets of the Old Testament and to Jesus, becomes more and more alive and adapted to our daily lives.

Keep looking to the Lord, even when everything seems silent. The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Do not let go of the hand of the One who called you to walk according to His splendid commandments. Obedience brings us blessings, deliverance, and salvation—even when it seems we are walking in the dark, He guides us with light. -Adapted from J.C. Philpot. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.

Pray with me: Lord, even when I do not see You clearly, I choose to keep seeking You. Give me patience to wait for You and humility to keep learning, even when I feel weak.

Teach me to trust in Your Law, even when it seems difficult to follow. May Your magnificent commandments be my foundation, even on days when my soul is downcast.

Oh, beloved God, I thank You because even in moments of silence, You sustain me with Your faithfulness. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is like a torch that lights even the densest darkness. Your commandments are like arms that embrace me and keep me firm on the path. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
