“He will not let your foot slip; He who watches over you will not slumber” (Psalm 121:3).
We live surrounded by traps. Temptations are everywhere, always ready to fit into the weaknesses of our hearts. If we depended only on our own strength, we would inevitably fall into these snares. But the Lord, in His protective providence, raises an invisible wall around us, sustaining and preserving us from the falls that would destroy us.
This divine protection occurs when we choose to live according to the magnificent commandments of the Most High. They function as warning signs, teaching us to avoid dangerous paths and to seek refuge in the Father. Obedience does not make us invincible by ourselves, but it opens the way for God’s hand to act, guarding and strengthening us in the midst of temptations.
So, walk with vigilance and confidence. Even surrounded by snares, you can be safe in the Lord’s hands. Whoever remains faithful, watchful, and obedient experiences divine preservation and is led to the Son to find eternal life. Adapted from J.C. Philpot. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Beloved Father, I recognize that I am surrounded by temptations and snares, and that I cannot overcome them alone. I ask for Your protection and mercy at every step.
Lord, teach me to live according to Your magnificent commandments, so that I may be alert to dangers and steadfast on the path of holiness.
Oh, dear God, I thank You because You preserve me from falling and sustain me in the midst of temptations. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is a shield around me. Your commandments are walls of protection that guard my soul. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
