“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me” (Psalm 23:4).
Where there is shadow, there is also light. The shadow is only a sign that the light is near. For the faithful servant, death is not the end, but merely a shadow that crosses the path—and shadows cannot harm. The body may rest, but the soul remains alive, wrapped in the presence of the One who conquered death. The Lord turns fear into peace, and the passage through darkness becomes the beginning of a life that never ends.
This confidence is born in those who choose to walk according to the magnificent commandments of the Most High. Obedience frees us from fear and places us under the light of truth. When we live in faithfulness, we understand that death has lost its power, because the Father leads the obedient to the Son, who is Life itself. Thus, even in the face of the valley, the heart rests—for the Shepherd is beside us, guiding us toward eternity.
Therefore, do not live under the yoke of fear. Step out of the prison of doubt and walk into the freedom that Christ offers. The shadow of death dissipates before the light of obedience and faith, and the faithful believer passes from darkness to glory, where the presence of God shines forever. Adapted from D. L. Moody.
