“See, today I set before you life and good, death and evil… Choose life, then” (Deuteronomy 30:15,19).
God gives us something that is both a gift and a responsibility: the power to choose. From the very beginning of our journey, He draws near and asks, “Ask for whatever you want Me to give you.” Life is not a current carrying us aimlessly along—it is a field of decisions, where each choice reveals what is in the heart. Ignoring this call or simply refusing to choose is itself a choice. And what determines our destiny is not the circumstances around us, but the direction we decide to take in response to them.
But this choice is not made in a vacuum—it must be grounded in obedience to the wonderful path God has laid out. He not only gives us the right to choose, but also shows us the right way through His marvelous commandments. When someone tries to live their own way, disregarding the Creator’s voice, life becomes a loss, and the soul begins to fade. But when we choose to obey, even amid struggle, we become invincible, for no evil can bring us down without our permission.
The Father blesses the obedient and sends them to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Today, in response to God’s call, choose wisely. Choose to obey, live, and overcome—for God’s way is the only one that leads to a full life. —Adapted from Herber Evans. Until tomorrow, if the Lord permits.
Pray with me: Righteous Father, in the presence of Your voice inviting me to choose, I bow in reverence. I do not want to live like someone who runs from the responsibility of making decisions, but as someone who understands the weight and beauty of following You in truth.
Give me the courage to say yes to Your will and no to paths that only seem good. Teach me to choose wisely, with faith and obedience, for I know that true victory is found only in You.
Oh, beloved Lord, I thank You for giving me the freedom to choose and also the right paths to follow. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is a burning torch amid life’s crossroads. Your commandments are firm anchors that keep my soul secure in times of decision. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
