“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).
To love as Jesus loved us is a daily challenge. He did not ask us to love only the lovable, but also the difficult ones—those with harsh words, impatient attitudes, and wounded hearts. True love is gentle, patient, and full of grace even when it is tested. It is in complicated relationships that we prove how much our hearts are truly being transformed into the likeness of Christ.
And this transformation only happens when we decide to obey the magnificent Law of God and follow the splendid commandments of the Father, just as Jesus and His disciples obeyed. It is through obedience that we learn to love truly, not by feeling, but by decision. The Law of the Lord shapes our character, making love a constant practice and not just a fleeting emotion.
The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Choose to love, even when it is difficult, and the Lord will pour into you a love so deep that it will overcome all hardness and transform your heart. Adapted from J. R. Miller. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Dear Father, teach me to love as Your Son loved. Give me a gentle and understanding heart, able to see beyond faults and offer love where there are wounds.
Help me to overcome pride and impatience. May every gesture of mine reflect Your goodness, and may I live in harmony with all those You place around me.
Oh beloved God, I thank You for teaching me to love through obedience. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is a river that purifies my heart. Your commandments are living flowers that spread the fragrance of Your love in my life. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
