Daily Devotional: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33).

Many people complain about a lack of strength, but the real problem is that we trust too much in our own abilities. When we reach the point of admitting that we have no strength in ourselves, then we open ourselves up for God to truly use us. It is precisely in weakness that His strength is manifested, making us more powerful than any human resource, because we are relying on the arm of the Almighty.

To live out this divine strength in our daily lives, we need to prioritize the Father’s delightful and extraordinary commandments. The Law given to the prophets of the Old Testament and to Jesus is brilliant and incomparable in its perfect guidance. Obeying the Law is not optional, for the Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation, while disobedience keeps us distant from what He has planned.

Decide today to set aside all self-sufficiency and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Embrace the Creator’s commandments with determination, depend totally on Him in everything, and you will see true strength spring forth in your life. This is the practical path to being truly strong: emptied of yourself and filled with the power of God. Adapted from D. L. Moody. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.

Pray with me: Beloved Father, thank You because You turn my weakness into an opportunity for Your power to be revealed. Help me not to fight with my own strength anymore, but to surrender completely to You in every situation.

Give me, Lord, a humble spirit that recognizes the need for You at all times, clear vision to prioritize what truly matters, and prompt obedience to Your commandments.

Oh dear God, I thank You for revealing that perfect strength comes when I declare myself weak before You. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is a firm anchor in the midst of storms. Your commandments are a sure map that guides me to true victory. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
