“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:2).
Character will never be strong, noble, and beautiful if the truth of the Scriptures is not deeply engraved in the soul. We need to go beyond the basic knowledge we receive at the beginning of faith and dive into the deeper truths of the Lord. Only then will our conduct be worthy of those who bear the image of God.
This transformation happens when we choose to obey the magnificent commandments of the Most High and make His Word a constant treasure. Each reflection, each attentive reading, each moment of silence before the sacred text shapes our mind and heart, forming a character that is firm, pure, and full of discernment.
So, do not be content with the basics. Go further, study, meditate, and live out the truths of the Scriptures. Whoever dedicates themselves to the Word discovers that it not only informs but transforms, preparing the heart for eternity and leading us to the Son for salvation. Adapted from J. R. Miller. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Beloved Father, I place myself before You desiring that Your Word may penetrate deeply into my heart. Teach me not to live with superficial knowledge.
Lord, guide me so that I may meditate attentively on the Scriptures and obey Your magnificent commandments, allowing each truth to transform my life.
Oh, dear God, I thank You because Your Word shapes my character. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is a garden of wisdom for my soul. Your commandments are deep roots that sustain me. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
