While Moses went up the mountain to receive God’s commandments, the people built a golden calf. They wanted to worship the same God, but in their own way. This is the same attitude seen in churches: they claim to worship the true God, but reject His instructions. They accepted doctrines invented by men that arose years after Jesus returned to the Father. In the desert, God called that act rebellion and destroyed the disobedient. The same fate awaits those who insist on following a faith shaped by men and not by the words of the Father and the Son. Do not follow the majority, obey while you are alive. | “You have commanded your precepts, that we should keep them diligently.” (Psalm 119:4)
