It is amazing how so many people who claim to be followers of Jesus base their faith on something He never taught in the four Gospels. The advocates of the doctrine of “unmerited favor” never quote the words of Christ Himself, because they know that His words do not support this teaching; they cling to ideas that arose years after our Savior returned to the Father. The result is a faith built on men, not on the Messiah. Jesus was clear in teaching that no one comes to Him unless the Father sends them , and the Father only sends those who honor Him by obeying the laws He revealed through the prophets who came before the Messiah. Any plan of salvation that did not come from the lips of Christ does not come from God. | “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” (2 John 9)
