God gave us His powerful commandments through the prophets in the Old Testament and through Jesus in the four Gospels because He knew this would be our only protection against the enemy’s deceptions. The serpent is cunning, much more intelligent than any human being, and its main strategy is to draw souls away from obedience. Whoever turns aside to the right or to the left, even if only a little, loses divine protection and, without realizing it, begins to stray from the path of salvation. Only total faithfulness to the Law of the Lord keeps the soul safe under the Father’s care. Salvation is individual. Do not follow the majority , obey while you are alive. | “Be very careful to act as the Lord your God has commanded you. Do not turn aside to the right or to the left.” (Deuteronomy 5:32)
