Many leaders justify their own rebellion by saying that, after the ascension of Christ, the early church abandoned the Lord’s laws, and conclude that we should do the same. What a deadly illusion! The Most High never commanded us to copy anyone’s mistake. Our standard is not men who strayed, but the Messiah who lived in perfect faithfulness. The apostles and disciples, taught directly by Him every day, followed every commandment revealed by the prophets. If someone later strayed from the Law, they are not an example for us. Woe to those false teachers who spread the same teaching of disobedience as the serpent in Eden. Salvation is individual. Obey while you are still alive. | “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God. Whoever continues in the teaching of Christ has both the Father and the Son.” (2 John 9)
