Jesus did not leave us defenseless against false leaders and false doctrines that would arise after Him. When we hear a message that does not align with the truth, the Holy Spirit calls us back to what the Son truly lived and taught. In none of the four gospels did Jesus preach the heresy of “unmerited favor,” which so many churches preach. What exists in the gospels is the example of Jesus and the apostles on how Jews and gentiles should live. All kept every commandment of God: the Sabbath, circumcision, forbidden meats, the use of tzitzits, the beard, and all the other statutes of the Lord. Salvation is individual; do not follow the majority; obey while you are alive. | “Here is the perseverance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12)
