“And when you are praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your offenses” (Mark 11:25).
Jesus taught us that the forgiveness we ask from God is directly connected to the forgiveness we offer to others. We cannot seek mercy for our own failures while holding on to grudges and resentment in our hearts. True forgiveness is a daily choice: to let go of the weight of bitterness and allow God’s love to fill the place of the wound. When we remember the good things and leave the bad behind, our hearts become light and our prayers sincere.
Obedience to God’s magnificent Law teaches us this path of forgiveness. Jesus and His disciples lived in faithfulness to these splendid instructions, showing that loving and forgiving are part of the same divine commandment. The Law of the Lord is not just about rituals, but about a heart transformed by obedience. God reveals His plans to those who live without rancor and seek the purity that comes from doing what He commands.
The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Release forgiveness today, and the Lord will set your soul free—making your heart worthy to be touched by the mercy of the Most High. Adapted from J. R. Miller. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Lord, teach me to forgive as You forgive me. May I not hold grudges in my heart, but always choose the path of peace and compassion.
Remind me, Father, of the good deeds of others and help me to forget the offenses. May I live in harmony with everyone and serve You with a pure heart.
Oh beloved God, I thank You for teaching me the value of forgiveness. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the mirror of Your justice and goodness. Your commandments are paths of peace that restore my heart. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
