“Teach me, Lord, your way, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name” (Psalm 86:11).
True spiritual greatness is not measured by fame or recognition, but by the beauty of a soul shaped by God. Sanctified character, a transformed heart, and a life that reflects the Creator are eternal treasures. Many become discouraged for not seeing rapid progress—the same temperaments, the same weaknesses and failures persist. But Christ is a patient Master: He teaches again and again, with tenderness, until we learn the path of victory.
It is in this process that we learn to obey the magnificent Law of God, the same commandments that Jesus and His disciples faithfully followed. He desires to form in us a heart that rejoices in doing the Father’s will and walking according to His splendid instructions. Obeying His Law is what frees us from the old nature and leads us to true transformation.
The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. Persevere in following the Lord’s great commandments, and you will see His hand shape your character into something beautiful and eternal—a living reflection of God Himself. Adapted from J. R. Miller. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
Pray with me: Beloved Lord, teach me to be constant in Your presence. May I not be discouraged by my failures, but trust in Your patience and Your transforming power.
Help me learn each lesson You place on my path. Give me humility to be shaped by You, just as the disciples were shaped by Your beloved Son.
Oh, dear Father, I thank You for not giving up on me. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the ladder that lifts my soul to Your holiness. Your commandments are light and strength that lead me to Your perfection. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
