“To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy” (Jude 1:24).
It is written of Abraham that he did not waver in the face of the promise. This is the kind of steadfastness God wants to see in all who trust in Him. The Lord wants His people to walk with such stability that not even a tremor is seen in their ranks, even when they face the enemy. The strength of the spiritual walk lies in constancy—even in the little things.
But it is precisely these “little things” that most often cause us to stumble. Most falls do not come from great trials, but from distractions and attitudes that seem insignificant. The enemy knows this. He would rather bring down a servant of God with a detail as light as a feather than with a great attack. It gives him greater satisfaction—to win with almost nothing.
That is why it is essential for the soul to be grounded in God’s mighty Law and His beautiful commandments. It is through this faithful obedience, even in the smallest decisions, that God’s servant stands firm. When life is aligned with the Creator’s will, stumbling becomes rare, and the walk becomes steady, courageous, and victorious. —Adapted from A. B. Simpson. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: My Lord and God, I thank You because You call me to a steadfast, secure walk, without wavering. You want me to move forward with confidence, without being led astray by little things.
Help me pay attention to the details of my daily life, so that nothing causes me to stumble. Give me a disciplined heart that values even the smallest acts of obedience. May I never underestimate small temptations, but face everything with courage, trusting in Your Law and faithfully obeying Your commandments.
O most holy God, I adore and praise You because You sustain me at every step. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is like firm stone beneath my feet. Your beautiful commandments are like markers along the way, keeping me from straying and guiding me with love. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
