“Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart” (Psalm 24:3-4).
Surely, it is not wrong to think and talk about heaven. It is natural to want to know more about the place where the soul will live for all eternity. If someone were moving to a new city, they would ask about the climate, the people, and the surroundings—they would try to find out everything they could. And after all, we are all about to move to another world, an eternal world where God reigns.
It makes sense, then, to seek to know this eternal destination. Who is already there? What is this place like? And above all, what is the way that leads there? These questions matter, because we are not talking about a temporary trip, but a permanent home. Heaven is real—and it is reserved for those who have been approved by the Lord.
But this approval does not come through assumptions or good intentions, but through obedience to God’s powerful Law and keeping His perfect commandments. Those who will inherit this glorious world are the ones who chose to live here according to the Creator’s ways. Seeking heaven requires living worthily before God, with faithfulness and reverence. —Adapted from D. L. Moody. Until tomorrow, if the Lord permits.
Pray with me: My Lord and God, I thank You for preparing an eternal place for those who love and obey You. Heaven is real, and I want to be with You in that glorious world where You reign in holiness.
Place in my heart a true desire to know You more, to walk in Your ways, and to prepare earnestly for eternity. I do not want to live distracted by passing things, but focused on Your will and steadfast in Your powerful Law and Your holy commandments.
Oh, most holy God, I adore and praise You for giving me hope of endless life by Your side. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is the map that guides the steps of the righteous to the gates of Your dwelling place. Your perfect commandments are like reliable signs pointing the way to heaven. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
