“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him” (Psalm 28:7).
Be patient, my dear friends. Amid life’s pressures, it is easy to become discouraged by what we see or feel. But God calls us to a higher place—a place of faith, steadfastness, and obedience. Do not allow your eyes to remain fixed on difficulties, nor let your hearts be overcome by fear of the trials that come from the world or from inner battles. Decide to obey God with all your heart, and trust in Him above all else. When this decision is made, life flourishes even in the desert, and the soul finds renewal even amid storms.
Every challenge brings an opportunity with it: the opportunity to learn to obey and trust more deeply. God wastes no pain and no struggle. He uses everything to shape a faithful character within us. But this transformation occurs only in those who choose to follow the narrow path of obedience. Only souls that refuse to submit to God’s powerful Law have reason to fear tomorrow. Fear is a sign of disconnection. But when we obey sincerely, we begin to live in peace, even without knowing what the future will bring.
Therefore, do not follow the crowd simply because it is large. The majority is often on the broad road that leads to destruction. Choose to faithfully obey the commandments God has given us through His prophets. This is the path of life, deliverance, and blessing. And when God sees this faithfulness, He Himself rises to act: He will deliver you, strengthen you, and send you to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. —Adapted from Isaac Penington. Pray with me: Eternal Father, thank You for reminding me that my security is not in what I see, but in Your faithfulness. I refuse to live guided by fear or anxiety. Today I decide to fix my eyes on You, trust in Your Word, and persevere even through difficulties.
Lord, strengthen my heart to obey with joy. I do not want to follow the majority or live according to the standards of this world. I want to walk the narrow path of obedience, guided by Your powerful Law and Your holy commandments. May every trial draw me closer to You, and may my life become a testimony to Your faithfulness.
O Most Holy God, I adore You and praise You for being a refuge for those who obey You. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is like a deep root that sustains the soul on the day of affliction. Your commandments are like living embers that warm the heart and illuminate the path of those who love You. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
