“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (Psalm 18:2).
What we see around us are only shadows; the true essence is in what cannot be seen. God the Father and the Son, the foundation of our faith, do not appear before our eyes, but they are real and firm. Imagine a tall lighthouse in the middle of the ocean. It may look like it’s floating on the waves, but underneath there is a hidden, strong, and unshakable rock holding everything in place. Even with storms raging, I would sleep peacefully in that lighthouse, because it is anchored to the rock—much safer than any fancy building constructed on sand.
Look, here’s the secret: when we choose to obey God’s mighty Law, He plants us on that solid rock. It’s as if it becomes our home, a place of protection against the enemy’s arrows. There, blessings never cease! No matter how hard the waves hit, we are safe, because He is the foundation.
Beloved brothers and sisters, decide today to walk with God with a faithful heart. He places you on that indestructible rock, where you can rest in peace. The storms come, but they will not bring you down. It is there, anchored in Him, that we find the security and joy the world will never understand! – Adapted from William Guthrie. Pray with me: Dear God, I confess that sometimes I am deceived by appearances, seeking security in what is fleeting, but I want to sleep peacefully in Your presence, anchored in You, safer than any construction on the uncertain sand of this life. I ask that You help me see beyond the visible, trusting in Your unshakable foundation.
My Father, today I ask You to give me a heart that chooses to obey Your mighty Law, so that You may plant me on this solid rock, my house of protection against the attacks of the enemy. Teach me to live there, where blessings flow without ceasing, safe even when storms rage around me. I ask You to guide me to this security, anchoring me in You, so that I may withstand the waves with the peace that comes from Your love.
Oh, Most Holy God, I worship and praise You for placing me on an indestructible rock, promising security and joy to those who walk with You with an open heart, anchored in Your will. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the reason for my peace. I cannot stop thinking about Your beautiful commandments. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
