“All your children will be taught by the Lord; and great will be the peace of your children” (Isaiah 54:13).
The great step and the direct path to reverent fear and awe before God is meditation and silent retreat. It is in this state of calm and introspection that the eyes of the mind turn inward. There, with a submissive spirit, we wait at the doors of the temple of Wisdom, seeking to hear the divine voice. In that moment, the light and discerning power of God manifest in the center of the soul, bringing clarity and purpose.
It is in this intimate encounter with the Lord that He calls us to the most important decision: to fully follow His holy commandments. This is the choice that leads to heaven, the only path that leads to true peace, lasting happiness, and eternal life.
Only in obedience to the divine laws do we find the way to live in harmony with God and with ourselves. There is no other way to true peace and joy. When we respond to this call with courage and faithfulness, we discover that the journey of life becomes a reflection of the Lord’s grace and presence, leading us to eternity with Him. -Adapted from Thomas Tryon. Pray with me: Dear God, teach me to find moments of silence and retreat amid the busyness of life, so that I may turn the eyes of my heart to You. In this state of calm, may I be ready to hear Your voice and receive Your light, which brings clarity and purpose to my soul. Help me to seek Your wisdom with a submissive spirit, willing to follow the path You have for me.
My Father, today I ask You for courage and faithfulness to fully obey Your holy commandments. May my life be a total surrender to Your will, a reflection of the faith I place in You. Give me the strength to choose Your law above all, knowing that it is the only way to true peace, joy, and eternal life.
Oh, Most Holy God, I adore and praise You for being the source of all goodness and purpose. Thank You for Your transforming presence, which gives meaning to my existence. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the beacon that lights my path. Your commandments are sweeter than the sweetest honey. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
