Daily Devotional: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit…

“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of Hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).

When Almighty God joined Himself to the staff of Moses, that simple instrument became worth more than all the armies on earth. There was nothing extraordinary about the man or the object itself; the power was in the God who chose to act through them. The plagues came, the waters were transformed, the heavens responded—not because Moses was great, but because God was with him. As long as the Lord remained by his side, failure was not an option.

This truth remains alive when we understand the role of God’s magnificent Law and His great commandments. The power was never in human means, but in the obedience that keeps the servant aligned with the Creator. God reveals His plans to the obedient, and it is in this faithfulness that He manifests His strength. Just as Moses walked sustained by the divine presence, everyone who chooses to obey finds support, direction, and authority that do not come from themselves.

Therefore, do not trust in your own strength, nor fear your weakness. Seek to walk in obedience, for it is there that God reveals Himself. When the Father sees a faithful heart, He acts, sustains, and leads that life to the Son. Where God is present, no obstacle is greater than His will. Adapted from D. L. Moody. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.

Pray with me: Beloved Father, I acknowledge that I am nothing without Your presence. Teach me not to trust in human instruments, but to depend entirely on You.

My God, help me to remain faithful to Your commandments, knowing that it is in obedience that Your power is manifested. May my life always be aligned with Your will.

Oh, beloved Lord, I thank You for showing me that strength comes from You and not from myself. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the channel through which Your power is revealed in my life. Your commandments are the safe path where Your presence accompanies me. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
