“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).
Many desire to serve God, but remain bound by the chains of this world. The glitter of earthly things still attracts them, and their hearts are divided between the desire to please the Lord and the wish to please men. Relationships, business, ambitions, and habits end up becoming ties that prevent them from surrendering completely. And as long as the world does not lose its charm, the heart cannot experience the full freedom that comes from obedience.
Deliverance only happens when we decide to live according to the magnificent Law of God, the same splendid commandments that Jesus and His disciples faithfully obeyed. These holy instructions break the ties of the world and teach us to live for what is eternal. Obeying the Law of the Lord is not a loss, but a victory—it is choosing to be free from the illusions that enslave the soul and to walk in fellowship with the Creator.
The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. May you choose today to let go of everything that binds you to the earth and walk lightly, guided by the will of God, toward the Kingdom that never fades. Adapted from J.C. Philpot. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.
Pray with me: Beloved Lord, deliver me from everything that binds me to this world. May no tie, desire, or relationship separate me from Your presence.
Teach me to seek the things above and to delight in obeying You. May I live with a heart that is free and completely Yours.
Oh, dear Father, I thank You for setting me free from the chains of this world. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your mighty Law is the key that opens the doors to true freedom. Your commandments are wings that lift my soul close to You. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
