“Praise the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever” (Psalm 106:1).
We often give hesitant thanks for the spiritual blessings we receive, but how vast is the field of mercies that God grants us by delivering us from what we have not done or have not become! We cannot even imagine all that He, in His goodness, has spared us from. Each day is a gift of His protection against evils we never knew.
This truth calls us to obey the glorious Law of God. His wonderful commandments are a shield, guiding us away from sin and closer to His will. To obey is to embrace the protection of the Creator, allowing Him to keep us on the path of righteousness.
Beloved, live in obedience to receive God’s blessings. The Father guides the obedient to His Son, Jesus, for salvation. Give thanks for His protection and follow His ways, as Jesus did, to find true peace. Adapted from Frances Ridley Havergal. Until tomorrow, if the Lord allows us.
