Daily Devotional: Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows…

“Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows” (Isaiah 53:4).

Jesus feels every pain and every anguish we face. Nothing we go through escapes His compassionate gaze. When He was on Earth, His heart was moved by human suffering — He wept with those who wept, healed the sick, and comforted the afflicted. And that same heart remains the same today.

But to truly feel this living and comforting presence, it is necessary to walk in the ways of the splendid Law of our God. The Father reveals His care to those who obey Him from the heart, to those who choose to live as Jesus and the apostles lived: faithful, righteous, and obedient to the divine will. Whoever walks in the light of obedience experiences the tenderness and strength of this love that comforts and sustains.

The Father blesses and sends the obedient to the Son for forgiveness and salvation. May you choose to follow the Lord’s will, trusting that each step of obedience brings you closer to Christ, the only one capable of healing the heart and transforming life. Adapted from J. R. Miller. See you tomorrow, if the Lord allows.

Pray with me: Beloved Lord, You know my pains and the weight I sometimes carry in my soul. I know that no suffering goes unnoticed by Your eyes and that Your compassion surrounds me even when I feel alone.

Father, help me to live in faithfulness to Your will and to walk according to Your wondrous commandments. Teach me to recognize Your touch in the small things and to trust that every act of obedience brings me closer to You.

Oh, my God, I thank You for Your love that feels my pain and strengthens me in my struggles. Your beloved Son is my eternal Prince and Savior. Your powerful Law is a shield of light over my life. Your commandments are paths of comfort and hope. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
