“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, whose purposes are steadfast in you” (Isaiah 26:3).
God is a God of peace. He dwells in a tranquil eternity, above the chaos and confusion of this world. And if we want to walk with Him, we must allow our spirit to become like a calm and clear lake, where His serene light can be reflected clearly. This means avoiding everything that robs us of our inner quietness—distractions, agitations, external and internal pressures. Nothing in the world is worth the loss of the peace that God wants to pour out upon the obedient heart.
Even the mistakes we make should not throw us into guilt and despair. They should only lead us to humility and sincere repentance—never to agitation. The answer is to turn to the Lord with all our heart, with joy, with faith, and with a willingness to listen and obey His holy commandments, without murmuring, without resistance. This is the secret that many unfortunately ignore. They want peace, but do not accept the condition God has established to receive it: obedience.
The powerful Law of God, revealed through His prophets and through Jesus, is the path to true peace. There is no other. Without obedience to the clearly revealed will of the Creator, there is no rest for the soul. The peace that was promised since the beginning of the world rests only upon those who do what God asks. It is not something mystical or unattainable—it is a direct consequence of faithfulness. And this peace, once received, sustains the heart in any circumstance. -Adapted from Gerhard Tersteegen. Pray with me: Beloved Father, I thank You because You are not a God of confusion, but of peace. I desire to know You in this place of tranquility, where Your light shines upon a calm and surrendered heart. Teach me to reject all that robs me of my peace, and to rest only in Your presence.
Lord, I want to obey You with joy and faith, without resistance, without complaints. I know that Your powerful Law is the sure path to live in harmony with You. Give me a heart sensitive to Your voice and steadfast to keep Your holy commandments. May my life be shaped by Your will, and not by the agitation of this world.
Oh, Most Holy God, I adore You and praise You for being the Prince of Peace. Your beloved Son is my eternal Savior and Redeemer. Your powerful Law is like the serene reflection of Your glory upon the still waters of an obedient soul. Your commandments are like gentle rays from the sun of righteousness, warming the faithful heart with peace, light, and security. I pray in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
